Ken started watercolour painting as a full time occupation in 1972, previously studying architecture at Edinburgh College of Art from 1955-1960.

Favourite subjects are landscapes and beach scenes - with atmosphere and understatement a component of any work. Influences have been Chinese and Japanese art, Turner, and the work of Scottish Colourists, Eardley and McTaggert, Szabo and Rowland Hilder.
